urge

urge the children toward the exit （子供たちを出口の方へ急がせる）

「～をせきたてる」、「～に（・・・するよう）強く迫る」、「～を力説する」 という動詞の意味と、「衝動」 という名詞の意味がある。



urgent は形容詞形で、「急を要する」、「しつこく求める」 という意味。urgency は 「緊急性、切迫」 という名詞。
