My aunt is often confused with my mother. （私のおばは、よくうちの母と間違えられる。）
Her expression confused me.
I was confused with [ by ] her expression. （彼女の表情に私は困惑した。）
「～を混同する、困惑させる」 という動詞。confusion はその名詞形で、「混乱、乱雑、混同」 という意味。
